Maritime cases are mostly cases that occur on the water or on a fixed or movable platform on the water. Sometimes they occur when somebody’s working on a boat, a member of the crew of the boat. Sometimes we have crane or rigging accidents that take place. We’ve also represented people who work off-shore where product was faulty and the product caused harm to the person. Maritime cases are mostly that type of case. One thing that you need to remember is sometimes maritime workers are working right next to the dock, but they’re on a boat, so those people could also qualify for having a maritime case. Some of these can sue their employers if they’re what’s called a Jones Act Seaman, so that’s something that we’re always looking out for also.
